Shawn Hedrick

Shawn Hedrick was born and raised in Randolph County West Virginia and resides there to this day. He started life with an interest in construction and how things are built and work. Shawn is in his element when he is in the outdoors and running heavy equipment. He took to Mathematics at a young age and was drawn to building and engineering. He started down the path to become an engineer but the path took a turn and he fell back on his construction skills.

At 23, he started his career in the Laborers Union and spent 7 ½ years doing construction on various types of projects. In 2015, Shawn switched gears and careers going from the Laborers Union to the Operators Union. He continued to do construction on projects including power lines, wind farms, sewer lines, water lines, and pipelines, as well as various construction jobs in-between.

In November of 2022, Shawn joined the WVDOH and worked as a Traffic Control Worker. In February of 2024, Shawn was hired as a Habitat Restoration Specialist/Heavy Equipment Operator for CVI. To date he has been a member of CVI’s & USFWS’s team to create and protect habitat for endangered and threatened species.

Shawn enjoys hiking, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and watching/coaching his two kids at soccer. In his downtime Shawn also enjoys woodworking and just being creative in his woodshop.
